Green Day Plots North American Tour Dates
With three new albums’ worth of material to work with, Green Day has announced a late 2012/early 2013 run of North America that coincides with the upcoming releases of “¡Uno!,” “¡Dos!,” and “¡Tré!.”
The tour gets underway with a seven intimate West Coast dates in the fall, beginning on Nov. 26 at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre. On Jan. 7, Green Day kicks off a proper arena trek in Green Bay, and wraps things up 21 dates later in Las Vegas.
Tickets for the North America leg of the veteran rock group’s tour go on sale on Sept. 14 and 15, while members of the band’s fan club, Idiot Club, will have a chance to snag them on Sept. 12. In addition, Green Day will perform at New York’s Irving Plaza on Sept. 15 to help celebrate the launch of new streaming service Nokia Music.
“The whole process and the cycle is all about chaos,” Billie Joe Armstrong told Billboard in July about the massive promotional plan for “¡Uno!,” “¡Dos!,” and “¡Tré!,” which will be released on Sept. 25, Nov. 13 and Jan. 15, respectively. “It’s all about shooting from every single direction we possibly can. There’s no format to what we do. There’s no rules. And it’s just a big breath of rock-and-roll fresh air, and it’s a big fuck-you to everybody at the same time.” READ MORE
