Justin Timberlake Buying Part Of Memphis Grizzlies
Justin Timberlake is putting stock in his hometown basketball team. According to Memphis’ “Commercial Appeal,” the pop superstar and Tennessee native is poised to become a minority owner in the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies. Timberlake is teaming up with businessman Robert Pera in Pera’s bid to purchase a stake in the team for a reported 350-million-dollars. The NBA has yet to sign off on the deal, but if it does Timberlake will join a growing list of music stars who have invested in professional sports teams. Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z holds a minority stake in the Brooklyn Nets; singers Marc Anthony, Gloria Estefan and Jimmy Buffett are part owners of the Miami Dolphins; and R&B star Usher is part owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
