Bob Dylan Debuts Shockingly Violent New Video
The video for Bob Dylan’s new single “Duquesne Whistle” initially seems like a Charlie Chaplin-inspired bit of light comedy about a young man trying to impress a woman he sees on the street. But after our hero gets thrown into a van and tied to a chair, things take a shockingly dark turn and the clip begins looking like a deleted scene from Goodfellas. The video was directed by Nash Edgerton, who previously worked with Dylan on the videos for “Must Be Santa Claus” and “Beyond Here Lies Nothin’” – the latter of which is significantly more violent than “Duquesne Whistle.” Edgerton is also an accomplished stunt coordinator who worked on the Matrix movies and was Ewan McGregor’s stunt double in the Star Wars prequels.
