Fans haven’t heard much from Jeff Lynnerecently, but the creative force of Electric Light Orchestra is about to make some noise. He’ll be releasing two new albums on Oct. 9.

The first is a new solo album, “Long Wave,”described in a press announcement as “a heartfelt and vivid tribute to some of the very songs that originally inspired him.”

On the album, Lynne remakes some pop songs like “Bewitched, Bothered And Bewildered,” “Smile” and “Love Is A Many Splendored Many Thing” and a few ’60s songs, like “Mercy, Mercy” (the album’s first single) plus “Let It Rock” and “So Sad.” It’s Lynne dabbling in early memories and rock oldies in his familiar style.
