Taking a taxi in Indianapolis will be a bit different surrounding the big game; riders will pay a flat rare fare depending on the distance they plan to travel to and from downtown.

Starting Feb. 2 through Feb. 6, fares for trips beginning or ending in downtown will be calculated based on one of four zones ringing the city, similar to a square bull’s eye.

Trips starting and ending within downtown will cost a flat $15.

A trip into the second zone, bordered by 38th Street to the north; Troy Avenue to the south; Emerson Avenue to the east, and Holt Road to the west will cost $25.

Venturing into the third zone, bordered by 73rd Street to the north; Southport Road to the South; Mitthoefer Road to the East; and Girls School Road to the West, will cost $40.

Venturing beyond the third zone, including a trip to the Indianapolis International Airport will cost $50. Longer distance trips will cost more.

The flat fares only apply to journeys beginning or ending in the downtown zone.
