The 317 Super Bowl: Kardashian Dropped

Eleven months after she starred in a racy Super Bowl commercial, Kim Kardashian has been dropped from this year’s lineup.Her replacement? A French bulldog.

The reality television star, two months removed from a much-publicized divorce from NBA player Kris Humphries, won’t be seen in any ads for the shoe company Skechers during this year’s big game, as reported by USA Today’s Bruce Horotivitz. Skechers execs insist Kardashian’s removal from the spot has nothing to do with the negative PR cycle that has followed the celebrity since the messy divorce last fall.“Kim got us more attention than we ever dreamed,” said Leonard Armato, president of Skechers fitness. “We have to establish Skechers as more than a lifestyle company.”

In the new spot, the tiny French bulldog — bedecked in Skechers new GOrun shoes — races a pack of greyhounds.
