Scotty Show: One Really Good Reason Not To Run With Your iPod
A 38-year-old father of two was jogging and listening to his iPod in Hilton Head, South Carolina when he was hit from behind and killed by a small plane that was making an emergency landing on the beach.
The man was on a business trip and had been looking forward to heading home for his daughter’s third birthday.
He never heard the plane and died instantly.
The single-engine plane had to make the landing because it had lost its propeller and the pilot’s vision was blocked by oil on the windshield.
The plane started leaking oil at about 13,000 feet and the pilot tried to make it to Hilton Head Airport. But the oil on the windshield blocked his vision and the propeller came off.
When he tried to land on the beach, the plane hit the man and came to rest a little farther down.
