Musicians who make the most money are generally the musicians who care most about their work. Forbes rates the highest paid musicians based on touring, record sales, endorsements and any other income they may bring in within accordance to their career.

U2 is at the top of the list bringing in $195 million between May 2010 and May 2011. Their massive tour brings in millions of fans worldwide. Next, is the legenday band, Bon Jovi. They come in No. 2 bringing in $125 million.

This third place money maker may come as a surprise but because of his great popularity, he still brings in the income. Elton John ranks in at number three with $100 million that was fueled by a 102-show tour.

Lady Gaga, the newest and most relevant force in the music industry comes in fourth place. This year she brought in $90 million, which is some what of an understatement. She would be right up their with Mr. Elton John himself but because of her costly tour, much of the money she brings in goes to funding the massive production she puts on at each one of her shows.

Finally, number five belongs to Canadian “crooner” Michael Buble bringing in $70 million.

The youngest money making musician to rank on the list was Justin Bieber bring in a total of $53 million while the oldest who took home $66 million.
