Santa Claus is bringing The Simpsons a very special Christmas gift this coming Sunday, December 5. A video game? Better than that! A Wii? Better than that. Who needs toys or a new jacket when Katy Perry is coming over to visit? Admit it, you’re jealous.

Singer, Katy Perry, will be coming to 742 Evergreen, Springfield, and knocking on the Simpson’s door. But the FOX animated family will look a little different than usual. This night Homer, Marge, and the kids will look like puppets.

The plot is that, “Maggie has a Muppet-type DVD that no one will let her watch, so she has this puppet dream with the Simpsons, and Katy Perry shows up the way Elton John would on The Muppet Show,” Simpsons executive producer Al Jean tells EW. In Maggie’s dream, Katy will be singing “The 39 Days of Christmas” with the Simpsons, Mr. Burns, and Moe, who is her boyfriend. Look, we told you it was a dream sequence.

“Moe can’t actually reach her — he’s too short — so there’s a slightly risqué joke at the end of the show,” hints Jean. “Don’t tune out during the credits.”

Adding some extra spice to the episode, which is titled, “The Fight Before Christmas,” will be an appearance by an animated Martha Stewart. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, Katy will be wearing a bright, red dress that makes her Sesame Street dress look almost saintly. We wonder how parents will take to this outfit, but then again, The Simpsons is not exactly a television show for children.

We’re looking forward to watching this Christmas episode. The Simpsons is going into it’s 24th season and is still as original and funny as it was when it first started on The Tracey Ullman Show back in 1987. In fact, it’s even better.

We’re going to be a couch potato at 8:00 PM on Sunday, December 5 and plan on enjoying Maggie’s dream and listening to Katy sing and interact with our favorite family, The Simpsons.
