The Self Care Guru Pro Tip 11: Taking Solo Trips
Leaving town and all your worries behind is something we all fantasize about doing every now and then. I decided to actually do it this past weekend, just because! I had never traveled somewhere alone for non-business reasons. I wanted have this weekend to go away by myself, for myself.
So booked myself the cutest AirBnB and made a quick 2 hour drive to Louisville. I made reservations for one at a fancy five-star restaurant where I enjoyed $30 plate of chicken with a couple glasses of Chardonnay. I then went out to couple of bars, met a few people, danced, and had the best time all on my own.
I encourage you to incorporate more solo travel (for pleasure) into your life. Plan for at least one trip a year if that’s all your lifestyle allows. Find peace that allows you to be comfortable being alone. Put yourself in new environments that teach you about yourself and your own individual capabilities. You get to learn about yourself in a whole new way. It’s incredibly liberating.
