Rucker will sing in the traditional spot on Race Day, before the 33 drivers are called to their cars. Also in the lineup is Indianapolis resident and former winner of “The Voice,” Josh Kaufman.
Rucker was chosen because he “has a unique set of skills as a musical artist and connects on a personal level with fans across the globe,” said Doug Boles, president of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Rucker says he is “honored to sing the national anthem at the Indianapolis 500” and to help celebrate the 100th running of the race.
