There are a lot of “beauty products” waiting in your kitchen for you to try out. These are the methods and items I’ve personally tried:

  1. Honey. I love adding honey to my conditioner. Honey acts as natural humectant and draws moisture from the air. It always leaves my hair super soft.
  2. Eggs. Apply eggs to your face as a mask to minimize the appearance of pores, and tighten and firm your skin. If you apply it to your hair the protein will help strengthen it (Don’t leave it in too long. “Listen” to your hair to determine how much strengthening it needs).
  3. Mayonnaise. The smell is awful! However, it’s great if you have run out of conditioner and are looking to add strength to your hair.
  4. Olive Oil. If you have dry hair this is a great way to seal in moisture after applying a moisturizer and to add shine to your hair.
  5. Cayenne Red Pepper. Watch my video on my experience with using Cayenne Red Pepper to promote hair growth.
  6. Brown Sugar. You can apply brown sugar directly to your skin as a scrub. You can also combine it with an oil such as olive oil or grape seed oil to exfoliate your skin and keep it smooth.
  7. Lemon/Oranges. Add lemons or oranges to a foot bath to soften your feet. Added perk- it smells really good.
  8. Cucumbers. Apply cool, thinly cut cucumbers to your eyes to reduce puffiness (*See woman in pic above). You can also put spoons in the refrigerator for 20 minutes and apply them under your eyes to minimize the appearance of bags under your eyes.
  9. Coconut Oil. This is one of the only oils that can actually penetrate the hair shaft. It’s great to use on your hair. It’s been used by women in India for years.
  10. Apple Cider Vinegar. It can be applied to the hair as a rinse to help remove buildup on your hair, balance the pH of your hair, and fight dandruff. If can also be used on your nails to help your polish last longer.

*Bonus Tip- Grape Seed Oil. I’ve used grape seed oil as a heat protectant numerous times while blow drying and flat ironing my hair and I Iove how shiny it makes it.
