I love saving money and pampering myself at home. Adding these 5 steps to your regular nail care routine will stretch the time between your next mani/pedi and improve the appearance of your polish. Here are the steps:
- Start with clean dry nails. Wash hands and remove any leftover polish from your nails with nail polish remover.
- Apply apple cider vinegar or white vinegar to your nails using a cotton ball. This step is VERY important.
- Apply a base coat. You can use an actual base coat polish and/or a nail hardener or calcium based polish to promote and retain growth.
- Apply at least 2 coats of the (color) nail polish of your choice. When applying the polish be sure to focus on the tips of your nails and always go underneath the nail to seal it in (especially with the top coat).
- Apply a top coat of nail polish. Spray your nails with nail polish dryer or get creative and dry them with your blow dryer (cool air setting) to prevent smearing.
*Bonus Tip: Always wear gloves when doing the dishes or using chemical based cleaners around the house.
