BLOG: Indianapolis Mini Marathon – Results!
The Indianapolis Mini marathon 2010 edition got started on Saturday May 7th with thousands of runners looking to cross the finish line. The 2010 version of the race will be it’s 35th running overall. This year’s race sold out back in December of 2009. The Mini marathon is not only considered the largest half-marathon in the United States, but al the fifth largest running event in all of America. The Indianapolis Mini Marathon results for 2010 are currently online here.
This year’s version of the race sponsored by OneAmerica saw a repeat winner who beat his previous time. Festus Langat of West Chester, PA finished first with a time of 1:02:51 beating his 2009 mark of 1:03:55. His closest competitor was Ondara MacDonald who finished just 3 seconds behind the winner. In 2009’s version of the race, Langat of West Chester, PA was the #1 participant with a time of 1:03:55 across the finish line. He was followed by Ernest Kimeli of Georgia, who finished just over a minute behind Langat. The first Indiana resident to place amongst top competitors for 09′ was Jeff Powers of Bloomington who finished fourth overall.
A Post-Race party is to be held for mini-marathon and 5k race participants at Military Park in downtown Indianapolis. It’ll be a great way for family and friends of those in the race to get food and beverage while relaxing and enjoying a variety of entertainment. The party is free and open to the public as well.
