The ‘Grumpy Cat’ Has Landed a Movie Deal!

“This started off as a picture of a cat, but rare is an image that evokes that much comedy,” producer Todd Garner (“Anger Management,” “13 Going on 30”) reportedly said. “You read all of the memes and the comments, and one is funnier than the next. We think we can build a big family comedy around this character.”

If you aren’t familiar with The Grumpy Cat, the cat has over 1.1 million followers on twitter and is known for it’s comedic, spiteful tweets. The cat is also a hugely popular meme that that exploded in popularity in September of 2012.

There is no date yet for when the movie might be filmed or when it will be released. The studio responsible for ‘Paul Blart: Mall Cop,’ and ‘Jack & Jill’ are teaming up to take the cat worldwide in the movie theaters!
