LOCAL: 465 / 69, Some Parts Open For PM Drive
From IndyStar.com:
Rush-hour traffic went smoothly through the newly opened lanes on eastbound I-465 this morning with no accidents or fender benders reported, said Indiana State Police Sgt. Dave Bursten.
“Traffic was a little slower but that’s to be expected with one lane closed,” he said.
Construction zone speed limit signs of 45 mph are in place when repairs are in progress but that didn’t apply this monring, he said. “The lights weren’t flashing, so it was the regular 55 miles an hour speed,” Bursten said.
Two additional state police patrol cars were in the area to respond to any problems, he said.
Fishers Police said there was a rear-end collision on southbound I-37 just before it merges with I-69.
A dispatcher said the accident happened at 8:48 a.m. but no one was injured.
An 8:00 a.m. crash on I-69 at 96th Street was a three-car rear end-end collison in the southbound lanes, Fishers police said.
The man who caused the crash was taken to Community North Hospital, said Tom Weger, a Fishers police officer. The man had gotten out of his car to look at the damage and passed out, Weger said.
