Christina Aguilera Takes Back Her Judging Chair From Shakira on “The Voice”
The Voice is getting another makeover! Shakira joined the hit show for season four as a replacement for Christina Aguilera, but Christina is taking back her spinning chair! Christina originally left the show to promote her new album “Lotus”, but by the time this fall roles around she will be ready to resume mentoring on The Voice.
Ughhhhh…
See I love Christina as a singer/artist, but am I the only one who felt like she was rude to the contestants and slightly pretentious when she was a judge?
Shakira replaced Christina for the fourth season of the show, while hip hop star Usher replaced Cee-Lo Green. And it was AWESOME.
Here’s the deal..Christina had three full seasons to spin around and judge people based solely on their talent (when she usually ended up making people feel inferior to her), while Sharkira is just beginning (and she’s so dang likeable!). Shakira has proven this season that she is a total asset to the show with her hilarious sass and disses against Adam Levine and Blake Shelton!
Voice producer Mark Burnett revealed why it is necessary to have constant change on the panel:
Everybody can’t coach for life because when you have people with current recording in the game, this is not their job. Their job is their fans and making music and being live, and so we knew from the beginning that this would happen, and we’ve had six coaches. They all have another life and their schedules.
Mark makes a valid point, but I’ll be sad to not see Shakira return this fall.
TEAM SHAKIRA-SHAKIRAAAAA!
