Travis McCoy is standing strong of the claim that the release of his solo debut album Lazarus, due out June 8th, isn’t a tell-tale sign that he’s leaving his Gym Class Heroes roots.

McCoy told the media, “I’m trying to kill a lot of negative connotations out tees about me doing this solo project… A lot of people thought this was the end of the Gym Class Heroes or that Gym Class Heroes was over and I was trying to take the momentum we’ve built with Gym Class Heroes and use it for my own selfish desires.”

‘Lazarus’ has been in the works for over a year now and McCoy says this is the longest he’s ever spent on a record.
