Psy To Endorse Pistachio Company With Super Bowl Ad

Psy isn’t doing a great job keeping his promise of leaving “Gangnam Style” in 2012. The South Korean rapper will be unveiling a new version of his viral hit in a Super Bowl commercial for nut company, Wonderful Pistachios. According to “USA Today,” Psy shot the ad for Wonderful Pistachios on Tuesday. The 30-second Super Bowl ad will reportedly feature Psy, donning a pistachio green suit and cracking pistachio shells to the tune of “Gangnam Style.” The song will also be given new lyrics. Wonderful Pistachios also plans to place new displays featuring the rapper in supermarkets across the country.

The company has had some memorable characters to endorse their nuts in the past – Kermit the Frog and Bart and Homer Simpson, among them. Wonderful Pistachios’ VP of marketing told the paper they are excited to have Psy on board because “he’s penetrated the cultural consciousness” of the country. No word if the Pistachios are grown in China.
