Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Hudson Respond To Newtown School Shooting

Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus are among the stars who took to Twitter on Friday after news broke of the tragic elementary school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut that left 20 children and six adults dead. Bieber sent his condolences to those suffering, saying that the tragedy was “just wrong.” Rihanna wrote, “God have mercy! No one deserves this … What a Christmas it will be.” Demi Lovato shared similar sentiments, asking “what is wrong with this world sometime? Right before Christmas?” Miley Cyrus, Fergie, will.i.am, Bruno Mars, Pink, Alicia Keys, Adam Lambert, Nick Jonas, Justin Timberlake, Jordin Sparks, Rita Ora, Keri Hilson all tweeted about their shock and sadness upon hearing the news.

Michelle Branch was one singer who called for stricter gun control laws in her tweet. Jennifer Hudson recalled the words of her late mother – who herself died of gun violence – in her tweet writing, “This can’t keep happening. My mama always said ‘if you think you’ve seen it all, just keep on living.'”
