Forbes Top-Earning Women In Music 2012
Britney Spears may not have released any new music of her own in 2012, but she’s still the year’s top-earning woman in music, according to a new “Forbes” list. “The X Factor” judge brought in 58 million dollars in the past year, more than any other female in music. Britney’s contract with the Fox show alone made her a reported 15 million dollars. Spears ranked seventh on “Forbes'” list of “The World’s 25 Highest Paid Musicians” last month as well. Coming in just behind Spears on the new list of top earning female musicians is Taylor Swift, who had a huge year with the success of her chart-topping album “Red.” Taylor pocketed 57 million dollars in 2012.
Rihanna came in at number three on the list with 53 million dollars in the bank thanks to hit singles in 2012 like “We Found Love” and “Diamonds.” Lady Gaga, who topped last year’s list with 90 million, dropped down to fourth place. The singer made 52 million this year with the help of her massive “Born This Way Ball” world tour as well as her “Fame” perfume. Katy Perry rounds out the top five with 45 million dollars in earnings.
